Grant Konvalinka and Harrison, P.C. is a full-service, Chattanooga-based law firm with a talented team of versatile lawyers who provide a broad range of services in a number of practice areas.
In 2019, the firm began its partnership with LOGICFORCE to achieve increased efficiency and security. LOGICFORCE provided the firm with a total package of state-of-the-art software, tech support and ancillary services and maintenance. LOGICFORCE’s legal tech expertise and turn-key solutions have allowed Grant Konvalinka & Harrison, P.C.’s team to focus its attention on serving clients by removing IT-related headaches.
Business Development Manager, Gary Dempsey, spoke with Thomas Gautreaux, Director at Grant Konvalinka & Harrison, P.C., about why the firm chose to engage LOGICFORCE as its managed IT service provider and what technologies helped the firm operate seamlessly during the pandemic.
“Due to the standardization of our hardware, we have experienced a substantial decrease in IT-related issues, which has allowed our firm to focus on providing the best possible service to our clients.”
Prior to partnering with LOGICFORCE, how did your firm approach its IT services? Was IT handled in house?
Prior to LOGICFORCE, our firm handled its own software subscriptions and procurement in-house. We outsourced IT troubleshooting and support while maintaining our on-premise server network and computer hardware.
How has your partnership with LOGICFORCE helped you navigate operational changes as a result of the coronavirus?
We were fortunate to have engaged LOGICFORCE to help us migrate to a cloud-based platform and update all computer hardware and requisite software prior to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Even before the virus became an issue, we recognized the value and utility of being able to allow our attorneys and staff to access our network remotely, when necessary, and to standardize and upgrade our firm-wide hardware and software. As a result of our partnership with LOGICFORCE, our firm was able to seamlessly transition, to the degree necessary, to a work-from-home model. Had we not partnered with LOGICFORCE prior to the pandemic, we would have faced a much more challenging situation.
“LOGICFORCE also developed a custom document management system for our firm prior to the pandemic, which has assisted us in maintaining our voluminous records in a highly organized and secure manner.”
What technologies have been most helpful to your attorneys during the pandemic?
Due to the standardization of our hardware, we have experienced a substantial decrease in IT-related issues, which has allowed our firm to focus on providing the best possible service to our clients. Our cloud-based platform has increased the speed and ease of accessing electronic records and generating work product. LOGICFORCE also developed a custom document management system for our firm prior to the pandemic, which has assisted us in maintaining our voluminous records in a highly organized and secure manner.
If another firm was on the fence about engaging an outsourced IT provider, what would you tell them?
LOGICFORCE was the only vendor who could offer us a turn-key solution that met our IT needs. We have found the cost associated with transitioning to and utilizing LOGICFORCE to be well worth it.
Any other takeaways/feedback on how your partnership with LOGICFORCE has created value for your firm?
Because LOGICFORCE understands how law firms operate, we have found their services to be particularly well-suited to provide us with high-quality and strategic IT support, which has allowed us, in turn, to improve the service we provide our clients. LOGICFORCE’S team also appreciates the need for protecting our client’s information and has assisted in ensuring that we remain on the cutting-edge of data security practices. Additionally, LOGICFORCE has a division dedicated to e-Discovery, which is another valuable asset that our firm has utilized on numerous occasions.
The LOGICFORCE Difference
After decades of working with law firms across the country, we’ve found that in addition to reduced IT costs, our clients experience an average of 80% recovery of their master service agreement fees in the first year by using our team’s recommended pricing models and billable rates. We offer scalable solutions tailored to law firms. Our trademarked assessment, Synthesis E-IT Secure® (SEITS ®) maps out a firm’s current technology system — the combination of IT, eDiscovery, cybersecurity and data management — and helps plan for the future using these powerful technologies.
